HISTORY
Founded in Waltham, Massachusetts in 1977, Surgi-Care has grown to be a leading provider of durable medical equipment, orthotic and prosthetic care and surgical distribution in the New England area. Surgi-Care is privately owned by Lee Rice and Gary Lawson, two entrepreneurial spirits who sought to combine their passion for advanced technologies with the practice of sports medicine. In 1982, Surgi-Care helped introduce a new therapy technique, continuous passive motion, or CPM, to the orthopedic industry by working closely with investigating doctors and hospitals during the original clinical trials. Eventually, the company grew even further, bridging the gap between distribution and hands-on patient care by assembling our own team of certified prosthetists, orthotists, pedorthists, orthopedic technologists and orthotic fitters. For over 32 years, Surgi-Care has been committed to providing the highest quality of care and products to our customers both in and out of the operating room.
